Flat-rate vs per-user monitoring: where the lines cross
Most monitoring products bill per monitored user. SnitchOS bills per dashboard login. Below a certain fleet size, that makes SnitchOS the more expensive option.
The formula
One line of arithmetic
SnitchOS bills $100 per enabled login a month, so:
SnitchOS cost = $100 × A, where A is enabled logins.
A per-user tool bills every person watched:
Per-user cost = P × N, where P is the per-user price and N the monitored headcount.
They cross at:
N = 100 × A ÷ P
Below that, per-user is cheaper. Above it, SnitchOS is.

Worked example
An MSP with three dashboard users
Three logins: $300 a month for 10 endpoints or 10,000. Against a $10 seat the crossover is 30 employees.

One mid-sized client passes the crossover. Every client after that costs nothing extra.
The honest part
Where SnitchOS is the wrong choice
- Small fleets. One login against a $10 seat breaks even at 10 people. Under that, per-user is cheaper.
- Many viewers, few endpoints. If every manager in a 40-person company needs a login, flat stops being flat.
- Non-Windows fleets. The agent is Windows only.
- Volume discounts. Above roughly 100 seats, per-user vendors quote well below list. Treat list prices as ceilings.
