Flat-rate vs per-user monitoring: where the lines cross
Almost every employee-monitoring product bills per monitored user. SnitchOS bills per dashboard login. That changes the shape of the bill, not just its size — and below a certain fleet size it makes SnitchOS the more expensive option.
The formula
One line of arithmetic decides it
SnitchOS charges $100 per enabled Admin or Manager login each month. Monitored devices, employees and clients are included at no additional cost. So your bill is set entirely by how many people need to look at the data:
SnitchOS monthly cost = $100 × A, where A is the number of enabled Admin or Manager logins.
A per-user competitor charges for every person being watched:
Per-user monthly cost = P × N, where P is the price per monitored user and N is the number of monitored people.
Set them equal and the crossover point is:
N = 100 × A ÷ P
Below that many monitored users, per-user pricing is cheaper. Above it, SnitchOS is — and the gap widens with every endpoint you add, because your side of the equation stops moving.

Worked example
An MSP with three dashboard users
Take an MSP running three enabled logins — an owner and two technicians. SnitchOS bills $300 a month, flat, whether they are watching 10 endpoints or 10,000. Against a $10 per-user product, the crossover is N = 100 × 3 ÷ 10 = 30 monitored employees.

The useful surprise is how early the crossover arrives. A single mid-sized client can pass it. The second client is effectively free, because onboarding client number twenty costs the same as client number two: nothing.
The honest part
Where SnitchOS is the wrong choice
- Small fleets. At one login against a $10 per-user product, the crossover is 10 monitored people. Under that, per-user billing is cheaper and you should take it.
- Lots of viewers, few endpoints. Our price scales with dashboard logins. If every manager in a 40-person company needs their own login, flat rate stops being flat.
- Non-Windows fleets. The agent is Windows-only. There is no macOS, Linux, iOS or Android agent, so a mixed fleet needs something else regardless of price.
- Volume discounts. Above roughly 100 seats most per-user vendors quote custom pricing well below list. Treat published list prices as ceilings, not as what a negotiated deal costs.

Captured from each vendor's own published pricing page on 28 July 2026. These are list prices for comparison only — verify current pricing with the vendor. Vendors that do not publish a rate at all are excluded rather than estimated.

Compare on features, not tier names. A plan that excludes screenshots is not comparable to one that includes them, and several vendors publish no rate at all — for those, any figure you see quoted online is third-party and may be wrong.
